Search in the register can be done in three ways:
Simple search
Extended search
Spatial search
Examples:
Maritsa | Maritsa – all objects that have in their name the text “maritsa”, regardless of uppercase or lowercase letters. |
River Maritsa | River Maritsa – only the names containing the words “river” and “maritsa” are shown. |
Byala | Byala – 539 results with the name “byala” in them |
Municipality Byala | Municipality Byala – 6 objects: one point and one surface object for the municipalities Byala (Varna region), Byala (Ruse region) and Byala Slatina. |
Through the following parameters:
-Should the official name be included in the search (in Bulgarian or transliterated)
-Should the alternative/old names be included in the search (in Bulgarian or transliterated)
-Object type by the INSPIRE directive (if a type was chosen, only the object of that type are returned)
If a name is selected from the result list, the object will be presented on the map with its full information. The selected name is presented on the map with an enlarged marker and information about them appears. When button is pressed in the information about the name, a KML file with the name data will be created.
The button "Spatial search" acticates the instrument for spatial search. You can drag a rectangle while holding the left mouse button to search for geographical names in that rectangle.
After performing a search by using one of the three methods described above you can filter the results by the name and/or the INSPIRE type of the geographical name. You can do this by entering a filter text in the "Filter results..." text box or by selecting an INSPIRE type in the "INSPIRE type" dropdown under the results list. Only the names that match the filter will remain visible in the results list. You can remove the filter by deleting the text in the "Filter results..." text box and selecting "INSPIRE type" in the "INSPIRE type" dropdown. The "Clear" button clears the entire search and removes the results from the map.

The map provides four layers which can be shown or hidden by the checkboxes under the button :
-Selected objects - this layer shows the chosen object from the search results (enlarged or filled, depending on the geometry type)
-Search results - this layer contains the search results, as displayed on the map.
-Search window - when using the spatial search, this layer contains the rectangle that was used for searching
-Map - this layer contains an OpenStreetMap.
The layer visibility can be combined to achieve a specific view. For example, if the "Search results" layer is hidden and the "Selected objects" layer is visible, the map will display only the selected geographical name from the search results, not all search results.
